The SST Thai household has 4 typefaces in total. It spans four weights from light to strong.
SST's subtle style traits offer a silently handsome and regularly friendly typographic presence that can be used for practically any typographic application. Broad variety branding applicability combined with coverage for nearly a hundred languages, makes SST one of the most widely accessible and usable typefaces available.
Originally created in collaboration with the worldwide customer brand, Sony, the SST household is one of the most comprehensive type families offered. Since comprehensive multi-lingual assistance was a crucial design goal from the beginning, Akira Kobayashi, Monotype type director and primary designer on the project, turned to a network of local designers around the globe for their specific language know-how. As a result, the information-- which could be as subtle as stroke curvature and width-- correspond across Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic and several Asian languages.
SST carries out equally well in print and on-screen and the designs can be utilized at very little sizes in product packaging and brochures; while huge print headlines-- even complicated wayfinding tasks pose no stumbling blocks to the family's typographic mastery.
