Among the numerous unusual efforts to conceal writing, these two systems apparently used by the Masons have a wonderful simpleness and relative ease of usage. Both systems, the Rosicrucian and Free Mason, (also called the Pigpen cypher) as easy replacement ciphers never provided very excellent cryptographic security, but certainly would guarantee that the casual observer would not be able to read files written in such scripts.
