Sybarite is a display serif typeface household. This typeface has eight styles and was released by Dunwich Type Founders.

Sybarite is a fat face that operates at any size. Capitals with sweeping curves and sharp unbracketed serifs command attention while captivating minuscules expose the pleasant side of its demeanor.

Sybarite is James Puckett's revival of the fat face type that appears in the 1829 specimen of Alonzo W. Kinsley's Franklin Letter Foundry. Kinsley's was a really brief and unprofitable service. It opened in 1825 (some sources state 1829) and ended in 1832 upon Kinsley's death.

High-contrast typefaces like Sybarite have thin hairlines that equate inadequately to scalable digital type. A hairline thin sufficient to stay a hairline at large sizes vanishes at smaller sizes. And a hairline serif drawn for small sizes becomes a piece serif at large sizes. Resolving this issue requires the production of optical weights; fonts tuned for a particular size variety, just as they existed in the age of metal type.
