Tatty was created by Tanya Davis and published by Scrowleyfonts. Tatty includes 3 designs and household package alternatives. p > Tatty is a sans serif, monoline typeface that is distinguished by the mild, rounded, backwards curves on the ascenders. I produced it because I had a picture in my mind of a typeface that I wished to utilize when creating images and logo designs for clients' websites but I might never discover one that was simply exactly right.

Many years ago I worked for a sign-writing business. My job was to copy and increase the size of letter sets from printed copy and then cut masks for airbrushing. One morning I got to my desk to find that the airbrush artist had written on a rough, rubbed out, scribbled on drawing of the letter 'a' - "make a letter pleased, make it lovely".

That was the brief I set myself in the style of Tatty - to make every letter delighted and lovely. The outcome is a flowing, elegant yet basic type which I believe works especially well for poetry.
