We designed Tenez for a branding task, more developing the resulting logotype into a typeface we felt might resolve numerous designers' needs.
Its origins are rooted in pointed nib calligraphy which can be seen in modern Didot and Bodoni motivated typefaces. But Tenez's shapes are natural (these contemporary typefaces were initially cut by hand after all)-- in reality that was the difficulty we set from the start: to make a typeface as natural in construction as possible.
One of the several unique functions of Tenez is its unusual Thin weight, in which the contrast between thin strokes and the black location left by the serifs makes for a typewriter-like personality.
Tenez was unapollogetically conceived as a display screen typeface implied to be utilized large as in magazine openings, drop caps or everywhere there's a need for sophisticated impact.
As constantly, we couldn't assist ourselves, developing 625 Glyphs (including assistance for nearly all Latin languages available), figure sets for practically every imaginable occasion (tables, text, you call it), rotates for the R (for the rainy days) and Q (with a good huge tail for that article opener).
