Tuba is a novelty typeface family. This typeface has four styles and was released by Canada Type.

Initially commissioned in the summer season of 2009 for a popular North American ice cream parlor chain we can not name, Tuba began with a reconceptualization of a rather problematic ‘‘ 72 alphabet concept by Swiss graphic designer Erwin Poell. Throughout the back-and-forth of the custom job, othesr concepts permeated into the design, mainly from other Canada Type typefaces, like Fab, Jonah, Jojo and Teaspoon. Completion outcome was what the client called a "sugar circuit trigger alphabet". This now is the retail variation of that project.

Tuba's primary style is a straight-forward mix of 60s/70s art nouveau concepts and late-70s/ early-80s tube aesthetic. The Highlight and Outline designs are nearly necessary spinoffs for this kind of typeface. And the all-caps Black style is a nod to the fat font trend of the past number of years. All styles contain lots of alternates
