Developed by David Kerkhoff, Understory is a hand screen font style household. This typeface has 2 designs and was published by Hanoded.

Lately I feel reluctant to see the news: The Amazon Forest is burning, Australian forests are burning, palm oil controversy ... It truly brings tears to my eyes to see all this destruction around me. It resembles people hate nature with a vengeance - I can not explain it otherwise.

I made this typeface to take my mind off things. It was loosely based on Futura, a typeface I actually like.

Understory was totally made by hand. It comes with some cute upper case swashes and a whole lot of diacritics. The good idea is: no trees were lowered or burned to make this font; in fact, I donated a good amount of $ to help conserve the rainforests!
