Created by Dieter Hofrichter, Urania is a sans serif font style family. This typeface has eighteen styles and was published by Hoftype.

Urania is a new aproach to early sans serif typefaces, in particular Ferdinand Theinhardt's types which came out at the beginning of the 20th century. Urania is not an adaption, but a new analysis of familiar and successful official functions, transformed into a modern look.

The Urania household consists of 18 designs and it can be found in OpenType format with prolonged language assistance for more than 40 languages. All weights consist of ligatures, proportional lining figures, tabular lining figures, proportional old design figures, lining old design figures, matching currency signs, portion- and scientific numerals, matching arrows and alternative characters.
