URW Geometric is a sans serif typeface influenced by the German geometric typefaces of the 1920s but developed for modern-day usability. The character shapes have actually enhanced proportions and a better balance, the x-height is increased, ascenders and descenders are decreased. Special glyphs, which are often created afterwards for the initial geometric typefaces from the 1920s, are perfectly integrated in the URW Geometric. These style characteristics increase the use and legibility tremendously.

With its 10 weights ranging from Thin to Black, plus 10 extra oblique designs and condensed and expanded widths, it has a terrific adaptability in mind. The extreme light designs shine brilliant in plus sizes, the middle weights are best for body copy and the bolder versions for the use of focus info or bring a strong effect to headings and details. The optically well balanced styles are designed to work in ideal harmony together. URW Geometric is functional, strong, basic and harmonized in kind, and at a glance appears as a modern-day variation of its predecessors.

Apart from the fundamental characters the style has an additional concentrate on the special glyphs. These are created for today's needs. For instance: the email glyph looks modern-day and distinct, consisting of a perfectly well balanced spacing.
