Utopique is a revival of a French mid-century sans-serif created by Enric Crous-Vidal in the early 1960s. Crous-Vidal turned down the homogenization of European modernist type and rather wanted to the "sexy" influence of what he called the "Latin Arabesque."

Overstated calligraphic strokes and a dynamic energy display Utopique's distinct impact, while careful balance and an expanded latin character set make it ideal for both screen and text settings in the digital age. While some elements of the style have been upgraded for contemporary use, OpenType supplies access to original alternate designs, as well as a brand-new set of oldstyle figures.
