Wilke Kursiv was developed by Martin Wilke, Hans van Maanen and released by Canada Type. Wilke Kursiv contains 12 styles and family bundle choices. p > Martin Wilke's underrated yet prominent deco classic from 1932 has both feet strongly planted in the high traditions of Western European calligraphy while thoroughly and discreetly introducing some traits from the sweeping geometric/minimalist vision of the time. In a manner, it was among the agents of the European anti-type typefaces of that age, when print media was searching for the elusive visual balance between humanism and geometry. This typeface took pleasure in some popularity in Germany for a couple of years, and went on to influence further type designs in Holland and Italy. After the second World War, the great void that swallowed a huge chunk of Europe's print culture, new impacts and technologies overtook the scene, and selective historic emphasis occurred, highlighting a few of the era's styles and overlooking others. More selective selecting in the digital age all however buried Wilke's body of work - unjustly so, because he was just as essential in German type history as Bernhard, Post, Schneidler, Tiemann and Trump.

The initial metal Wilke Kursiv can be found in one weight. This digital version goes a long method in broadening on that initial offering. Now Wilke's masterpiece comes in 3 weights, and with a complete Pro treatment consisting of swash caps, small capitals, five types of figures, automated portions, and lots of other OpenType niceties. Each of the Wilke Kursiv Pro typefaces includes over 700 characters, and includes assistance for the majority of Latin-based languages. Also available are 3 non-Pro font styles in each weight.
