Wolpe Pegasus has lots of surprises. Some characters have extra-large serifs, others have really various weights, and some even look irregular with the other characters in the set. "This is the typeface that taught me a lesson," states Toshi Omagari, who revived the design for The Wolpe Collection. "You do not have to be super-precise in the style of every character, it can still work." Omagari kept every convention-defying information of the original Pegasus style, including only a set of little capitals and an italic for each weight.
Wolpe Pegasus makes for an unique text typeface in books, journals and a range of online content. Each letter appears it was refined by hand. Side by side in words and blocks of copy, however, they work beautifully.
