It was a bright summertime afternoon, and Yana and I had gotten away the graphic style studio we operated at for lunch. We sat at an outdoor patio eating and talking about typefaces. In specific, we went over a serif face that would be so versatile, from simple to complex styling, with letters decorated with swashes we would be able use it for practically whatever: we might tailor it for logo designs and headlines and after that have the ability to utilize the same typeface for text too-- it would be a designer's tool kit. I told Yana that as soon as I determined how to develop type, that would be one of the styles I would produce-- and I would call it after her. She laughed, and stated, "Well, I'll be the first person to buy it."
