First Ave was created by Pablo Medina and published by Design is Culture. First Ave consists of 1 style. p > 1st Ave is the most experimental of my typefaces. I took a photo of a metal and neon sign in the East Town of New York City. These indications are gradually being changed by LED and LCD display screens, however if you look hard, you can still discover several in the city. The indications offer a mid 20th century feel to the city. To design 1st Ave, I took a photo of the sign, scanned it and increased the contrast in Photoshop so that the photographic kinds became line art. There weren't enough letterforms in the sign to produce the entire alphabet, so I cut up the strokes and collaged them back together to end up the entire alphabet.

Important Note: 1st Ave is an experimental typeface and is not compatible with certain software application such as Microsoft Word.
