Bitumen is a sticky, black, and extremely thick liquid type of petroleum. When I developed this font, it reminded me a little bit of asphalt, for this reason the name.

Bitumen is a handcrafted typeface based on Schmallfette Grotesk by Walter Haettenschweiler and Haettenschweiler font style. The font was made with a Japanese brush pen, hence the bold lines. Bitumen can be found in 2 designs: the regular, fat display font style and a lighter variation - both with italics.
