Publisher: Kimmy DesignEarlier this year I checked out a bakery in Newport Beach, CA and fell for the natural design and typography of the location. Hand-drawn menus, table cards, chalkboards, and wall quotes surrounded the lovely spot. It motivated me to develop a new typeface family based on the combination of hand drawn typefaces. Included in this plan are 5 font families, with 2 graphic accessory fonts. Each font family includes a minimum of a light, medium and bold.
Here is a breakdown of what's cookin' at Catalina's Bakeshop:
Catalina Anacapa: Tall and skinny, this font style can be found in 3 weights for both sans and piece serif styles. It consists of contextual alternatives (providing 3 variations of each letter), stylistic options for choose letters (A, K, P, Q, R, Y) and also includes Small Caps.
Catalina Avalon: Based off Anacapa, this sub household has a high contrasting line weight. It is available in light, routine and bold as well as an inline option for both sans and slab serif designs. Avalon likewise consists of opentype features such as contextual alternatives (offering 3 variations of each letter), stylistic options for choose letters (A, K, P, Q, R, Y) and small caps for each letter.
.Catalina Clemente: In a more basic width, Clemente is among the two sub households that can be utilized for paragraph text along with headlines. .Catalina Extras! These two typefaces go perfectly with the Catalina Household. They consists of borders, frames, arrows, banners, flourishes and more. Catalina Flourish has all of it's options in a light and strong design, to use the light version type all lowercase letters, then to make something strong, used it's uppercase (or shift+) characters. .All of Catalina was drawn by the exact same hand, using the very same ink and strategy. While they contrast in their type designs, they interact completely to create one cohesive font family.
