Hebden is a 'Northern' font style. Motivated by the town Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire, the household is a mix of a grotesque and an incised serif. The grot is based on Victorian train station signs and the serif is style that can be spotted around the Yorkshire Dales area. Hebden has a sentimental twist and is perfect for labelling, signs and memorable messages.
The grotesque face with its robust angles and warm circular curves remembers the design of conventional English sans-serifs like Caslon's 2-Line Egyptian. The incised face has strong however advanced and natural types and is based upon a wood sculpted style popular in the early 20th century.
The weight of the 2 faces are drawn to complement each other creating an evenly well balanced mix. Both faces feature caps, lower caps across letters and numerals, and have Western, Main and Eastern European language support.
