Newspoint was published by Elsner+ Flake. Newspoint consists of 8 styles and household package options. p > The style of the Newspoint typeface is based upon the custom of the American sans serif faces of the last century. This form expression was considerably affected by the News Gothic type which was produced by Morris Fuller Benton in 1908, and has, when again, become very popular. When the advancement of sans serif types such as Futura and Kabel by Renner and Koch started in 1925, the style of American sans serif types receded somewhat into the background. In the 1950's, nevertheless, they experienced a renaissance which continues to this day.

Thanks to its tidy design and the relatively big x-height, the Newspoint is well fit for useful texts in papers, publications, and pamphlets. In packaging style, also, the Newspoint can show its strength in fine print. Newspoint was established as a customer-specific variation of the News Gothic. In contrast to the News Gothic, however, the face appears to be softer and more attractive thanks to the changed interpunctions. If so desired, the alternative characters offer the typeface expanded individuality and a richness of style alternatives.
