Their printing issue, the Soleil d'or in Paris, was one of the printing service to engage in the use of blackletter printing, when the remainder of the Parisian printers where utilizing humanist affected roman typefaces. This peculiar backwards pattern was truly among the original examples of 'retro', benefiting from the desires of the more conservative northern Europe that had not yet embraced the newer roman types.
