About TT Ricks: We are delighted to provide you the brand-new font style TT Ricks, which continues the line of trendy and yet budget friendly TypeType Beginner Set fonts.

TT Ricks is a flamboyant elzevir-type serif, for which the words "adorable" or "calm" are not a fitting definition. TT Ricks can be categorized as a display title typeface that works especially well at large and medium sizes in product packaging style, book graphics and posters.

The typeface is inspired by the pre-digital typeface "De Vinne", which was developed in 1892 by the designer Gustav F. Schroeder. We liked certain elements of the historical prototype, however at the same time, when developing TT Ricks, we did not wish to restrict ourselves-on the contrary, we aspired to find an entirely new spirit and bring intense details to the font style.

The TT Ricks typeface stands apart for its strong contrast, noticeable sharp serifs, narrow letterforms with a pronounced displacement of flows in the arches. The typeface has extremely dense spacing, and in the strong design, the text set begins to look like Gothic by its richness and stress.

Important visual functions of TT Ricks are the dashing shapes of ascenders and descenders, the thin and sharp stroke endings, and the "elzevier legs" of the letters R K k. In the lowercase round characters c e s, you can notice the noticable slope of the oval, which contrasts with the basic set of the font. These 'inclined' signs and ascenders and descenders of the letters f and y are created to cut the uniformity of a set and to amuse the reader's eyes.

The TT Ricks typeface includes 3 weights (Routine, Medium, Bold) and one variable typeface. Each style includes 553 glyphs and includes 18 OpenType features. The most intriguing features are stylistic alternates for the letters R K k with alternative brief leg shapes, 2 sets of figures for working with upper and lower case characters, and a set of initial icons that further expose the spirit of the family.
