Virginia was developed by Russell Bean and released by Type Associates. Virginia consists of 4 styles and household plan options. p > Virginia has a proven track-record. Unashamedly geometric, starkly basic with a touch of art deco/bauhaus/rococo about her, she was the most popular heading face around, at least in my house town in the year of her release circa 1970.

That was the year my five-weight design won the inaugural (and only) Lettergraphics International Alphabet style competitors and locked out 5000 rivals. Alas, Lettergraphics ceased to trade from its LA studios after the mid-80s and Virginia's two-inch film font styles were left to gather dust on the cutting space flooring.

Until my recent decision to restore her along with some subtle tweaking, a couple of additional glyphs and Opentype functions, supported by an abundance of kern sets making Virginia ideal for text or the biggest display type.
