It is a stylish, modern and conventional analysis based on and imitated his successful 'Contax Pro' and 'New Age Gothic' typeface series. As such, it has generous proportions with tidy, crisp lines-ideally fit for simple reading and long lines of copy.

Alex felt that the skeleton for 'Contax' was completely matched to change the design into a modern version of 'old-style', rather similar to German Black Letter. Various modifications where made to the body percentages, stems and forms. True 'old-style' serifs and unusual 'cross-strokes' where included for a touch of difference. The 'cross-strokes' where added at precisely visual mid-point on the general heights. This provides the typeface a romantic, female-like quality to the total design. Strong, yet fragile. Visually promoting in appearance and function. The result is a genuinely distinct transitional and modern-day design.

Unlike other typefaces, MARIAMNE includes uniform stems throughout the capitals, lower case and figures. This offers the style a consistent appearance in general color and strength. There is an ideal visual balance between inter-letter spacing, stem weights and percentages. The accents are similarly large, bold and command attention. This font consists of a big 'Pro' character set, which supports most Main European and numerous Eastern European languages. As an outcome, the design is ideally matched for screen copy in addition to text structure. In the near future, Alex plans to broaden the typeface series to include a light and heavy weight, together with true italics.
